Looks like you're going to need more power... Thing is you mod and it feels good, and the new power is fun for a while then you get used to it... So you have to mod again to get that rush again... Kind of like crack.

yeah, porting will make her pull. But if you want to just pull the hill in a higher gear, drop a tooth in the front and it makes a pretty big diff.

goin up hill in sand you gotta keep the rpm's up high to keep the bike in the power band which will in turn get you up that hill a lot better. as soon as the rpm's drop your power drops and the bike will start to fall on its face.

Well porting is coming after this season so for now i am going to drop a tooth in the front. Anybody have a 13 tooth front they want to get rid of?

I just thought of something. Before I even made it to the hill the bike died on me. I was kicking it over and my wife rode up and was pointing behind me. My CDI box and wiring were laying on the ground. The bracket that the CDI bolts to busted and everything got pulled out. I didn't have my welder with me that weekend so i zip tied the bracket up and it ran fine, but I am thinking the extra strain on the ground for the CDI since the bracket wasn't mounted well might have caused a loss in spark. I have it all welded up now, so maybe that was the problem?

just like a power addict... you're in denial.

The first step is to admit the problem.

lol, maybe that's it. I noticed that was happening to me though on oldsmobile, if I wasnt in the upper RPMs goin up the hill, it starts to bog even more. And I was only 140 pounds back then. I havent tested what its like with porting though that's gonna be on halloween

so true!!!!! ive been there too. i would start with the gearing, if that dont work then move on to something else. everybody will preach about porting, and what everyone is saying true. there is not a bolt on mod that can help in the power department as much as a good port job. JMO.

Problem is dune season is just starting so i can't tear it down now. For all I know it may be ported and i just don't know it. I do know of the other 5 Banshees i have owned and ridden this is by far the fastest. The PO was really into drag Banshees so who knows how much is done inside. I am getting it ported before the Feb. trip to Glamis if it isn't already done.

Why make power half the time with a 4-stroke when you could make it all the time with a 2-stroke?
