On the PWK carbs, the needle will be 3 digits, with the first being the taper. The higher the letter the richer, the lower the letter the leaner. For example, my PWK came with a DEK. It was perfect except in the 1/2 to Full Throttle. It didn't come on fast enough and it needed more fuel. So, I went to an EEK (richer taper). The extra fuel caused me to have to back my mains off 2 sizes. Once that was done, it was absolutely perfect. The guys at www.carbparts.com are awesome to deal with and have lots of knowledge on that stuff. They can advise you if need be and get the parts to you quickly. I have a Keihen chart I could forward you for reference. It shows all the needle specs and what to do for richening and leaning. I think I got it at Sudco.com. I recommened buying the stuff at carbparts.com anyways. Hope that helps. Scott

| I've checked out sudco.com before. Somebody else also suggested that to me in the past. Thanks for the help. I'll try to get to that tonight and see so I can get the new needle soon.

| Come on guys you have to reallize that sometimes people type something and it lacks the emotion that people usually have when they speak. So when you think he is attacking you he really might just be curious. Don't get so offensive were all on the same side of the fence so deep breaths and everything will be fine.

| I just checked it out LGN are my needles with 140 mains. I did realize why it was probably sputtering like that. I forgot that I put a lid on my airbox with a cutout part that has an outerwear in it. I was running without a lid last year when I got it, but that's when it was running hot. BUT I should really figure it all out and get it done right.

| Looks like your screwed on needle sizes. Try leaning the clip one or have you already tried that.

| First off thank you EVILTWIN for directing me to everthing2stroke it awesome.. My first problem is the 2 kids. The second problem is the wife. Once I put all of them to bed I can get into the garage to fix this thing. There lies the third problem it is after midnight when I get it all worked out. So believe me I am reading all this information and think that it is great. I am not sure what kind of port is on this thing is there a way to tell? I don't even know if they are 35 carbs. I want to just ebay the carbs and then just get one. O well as far as the problem it was not really a wet spudder it just boooooooged and then hit the powerband and o'sh!t hold on. I could not pull a wheelie unless I was in the powerband. It could have been the 4000 foot elevation difference? I need to open it up on the dirt and see what happens. I dropped the needle one click and hope that works. As far as the needle size I have no idea what this joker put into the bike before me. Can you tell what size the jets are or should I just buy a new set? I was adding it up in the long run it might be cheaper to buy the $450.00 single carb set up. Again thanks eviltwin. |

| sounds to me like a pilot jet. Since it is bogging BEFORE you acutally hit the powerband, it is in your min rpm. You may be to rich, but its hard to tell by your plug cuz it burns off the gas in the heigher rpms. Try going smaller on the pilot, or larger if it doesn't help. Lets us know if you figure it out. Remember this, needle clip only effects the quad when your not on wide open throttle. So if you punch the throttle after you have adjusted the shit out of your needle position, and it boggs, then its not the needle posistion that is the problem.
