Question Custom R1 Banshee Problems

Over the winter i'm thinking of doing a major project on my banshee by custom fitting an R1 motor in, as many people have already done so I know its possible.I'd like to know if anyone on here has attempted this and what kind of problems I should expect to run into along the way. I know I will need to split the frame and weld in a custom center so the engine can be put in and removed. My biggest concern with it is getting a streetbike exhaust system to work for a quad. What custom work should I be expecting to do to make the exhaust system work with the banshee frame? I am guessing I will have to cut and reweld the header so it will fit correctly but running the pipes underneath the frame worries me especially since I would like to take it into trails every now and then. Any help would be appreciated.

the exhaust will be probably easier than the alignment issues youll likely encounter , particulary for the sprocket /rear end drive . the motor is tal and heavy l (high center of gravity )and wide and itll need to be offset out of the frame ,not trying to deter you from this but theres alot to consider and i think it will be very difficult to do it right especially if your unfamiliar wit hthis type of project ,yo u better have a good machinist and welder at your disposal and lots of mad skills ,id just get a mean 10+mm cheetah motor setup ,but thats just my couple pennies

I kinda want a banshee w. an R1 motor in it, just cause on the street you can crank out huge wheelies and race around easier, and probably go well over 100 mph

you see chris i would't do the r1 swap until after i had a fairly modded out shee...

Id make the r1 shee street legal thougha nd then ride wheelies past cops and throw eggs at their car

id keep the banshee with a 2-stroke and put the R1 in a 4poke bike

get a raptor or something thats already set up for a big motor and that way you might be able to fit the R1 motor in the frame without as much fabrication.

a crotchrocket motor in a quad would only be good if you were making it street legal, you dont want something geared for speed and that heavy for just playing around.
