ever since that one issue of dirt wheels came out with that raptor that is the " fastest atv ever built" everyone think its true.. i dont think it is.. i was wondering how fast can a banshee really go without using a bottle like that raptor did ? does anyone know ?

depends on gearing.... mien with a15/41 gearing and a 20" tire figures out to 95MPH... toss on a 21" tire and it figures to 101mph....

The fastest stock quad means nothing. Actually, stop speed on modified quads doesn't mean anything either, but the person with the most money and tallest gearing will have the fastest quad...

my shee is running 15/39 with 22 inch extremes, i figure it will probably go about 90 or 95 , but i dont know

it's buddies drag racing... and it's important... just becasue you MX wannabes don't wind these engines up. doesn't mean it's not important.... lets see

all require top speed.... we have htis argument once a week it seems..... but you thinik your an MX racer so top speed means nothing to you......

I wasn't arguing. I was giving my opinion. There was no argument here until you tried to start one. And I was talking about general riding. During general riding you're usually not at top speed.

i prefer quads that are great all over th RPM range.. infact when you build a good engine.. you should be able to use tall gears and still run well at any RPM....

well dickweeds general riding for me no mather where i'm riding is always at top speed on my shee. my shee is setup for whatever i want to do that day. (trail riding, dunes, rock climbing, hill climbs, mudding, open fields and roads, mx tracks) BUT mx is not for me.. to many whining ass fucks that try to take eachother out, and to many of them do not know how to ride they just think they can....

My whole point was that too many people worry about top speed as a number. Sure having a quad that will beat another quad in a drag race is always fun, but acceleration counts just as much here. And 99% of the time you're not at top speed so top speed does not matter 99% of the time. If you are at top speed most of the time you need a faster quad.

And I don't think I'm an MX racer. I've never raced MX, never plan to, nor do I have any desire to. I guess that makes me a wannabe, right? The only reason I ever bring MX up is because it's brings handling of a quad into the equation more than any other form of racing IMO. It's real racing, unlike drag racing.
