Default Hello All

Hello Everyone,

I've been reading the forums and decided to register and join your excellent community. Great site and knowledgeable members make for a good relationship hope I can help out sometime !!
Right now I'm in need of help myself, I have a 1994 Blaster that my 12 yr old son rides, quit yesterday with a backfire. Upon inspection with a new plug found no spark
so we checked all connections and for any crimped or burned wires none found.Next thing I thought was the tors system so I checked the tors carb and throttle switches and the carb switch tested in reverse according to the Clymer manual. The manual says jump the black/yellow and black wire with an OHM meter and full throttle should show 0 ohm's and slack throttle will show infinity.Mine reads reverse so I'm not sure whether the manual is wrong or it's junk,so it got unhooked and still no spark. Went to the coil and it tested good, went to the stator next all was cool except the charge coil showed infinity on all tests,we even checked the short length of wire coming out of the staror and the wire was good.
So all that jabber for the question is can I use a 2003-2005 5 wire stator on my 4 wire 1994 system ? Even if I have to take the components off the new assembly and put them on my old one! The reason I ask is I can get the whole setup off an auction for less than the price of the charge coil. I even matched the charge coil numbers from 1988-2006 but I want to be certain before I spend a penny.Any help would be greaaat and my son and me thank you!!!

They should match up fine. Im sure you could just bypass any unused wires.
