those philips head screws are attatched to the magnets.....don't pull them out. To get the stator off you need to remove the nut in the center of the stator and use a stator puller.

oops...I think you might be talking about the screws that hold the outer cover on..? You need a GOOD #3 philips tip....try this first. Sometimes a vise grips will work. Or you can use an impact screw driver. It is a screwdriver with a solid handle that you can hit the back of with a hammer. Hitting the screw cover with a hammer usually losens them up. Many people replace those shitty philips head screws with socket cap screws that you can use an allen wrench on.

yes...that should work...if I remember right, I think you are supposed to apply threadlocker on those bolts.....which might be why they are hard to get off!!!

Yes, bolts will work better, just Loctite them.......and make sure the bolts have a similar profile for clearance

If you dont have an impact driver (nice investment) do it the easy way. Get a phillips bit (the kind you put in a drill or screwdriver with replaceable tips) put it on the screw and give it a couple good whacks with a hammer and they usually come right out!

i had that same problem, but i stripped mine completely out, 2 sets of vise-grips and a hammer later and they came out

just buy a impact driver, it would help big time
