Question blaster starting problems

i got a blaster 94 and i just been havin some trouble gettin it started. i can start it but it takes for ever to get it started even wit a new spark plug. and when i do happen to get it started if i gas it to much it bogs down and dies.i think it might be the carburator or something but am not sure. i was just wondering if anybody could give me any clues of wat could be wrong with it. thanks

try cleaning your carb, could be dirt in it, or it could be some bad reeds

what does the plug look like?

Thumbs down gaskets

i opened the carb up and the it looked like a mud pit. i cleaned it out and put it back on without the gasket because the gasket was dried up and it was torn apart. i tried to start it without any gasket in the carb and it would'nt start. i bought the rebuild kit for the carb but i cant figure out were everything goes cause it comes with a bunch of gold looking things (im guessin these are jets) and some other little things. theres a pin that keeps me from gettin the floater off and i cant get it off. i think that if i put these back it should start. if anybody could help me how to put the rebuild i would really appreciate it.

the pin that holds the float on you can take a small punch and puch it out.....comes out real easy, your starting problem could be that you pilot jet is to small try putting a larger one in

also check your reeds and take apart your top-end as well, if there was mud in the carb, most likely it made its way into your engine... which could spell death to your motor if not taken care of

while i agree the dirt may have traveled inside the engine, i suggest you take things slow and disassemble when your ready. these motors aren't complex but if you get it all torn down in a hurry you may forget where things belong.

you did good cleaning the carb, and replacing that gasket, i'd suggest moving on to the reeds check them out, if there covered heavily with dirt then i'd say clean em off, and then you may think about popping the cyl head off to see how much dirt has entered the engine, theres no need to remove the cyl jug without inspecting other things first! good luck!

yea true, but as for myself, i absolutely make sure everything is in good order before i put it back together, so in my instances if the carb was dirty id probally tear down the whole top end

plus some dirt could of gotten in and strached your cylinder... but ud never know if you didnt check because maybe it didnt catch on a reed
