probably not... the bore is larger by a couple mm on a 240 cylinder ,yo u may have an uneven warped surface your dealing with ,really it shouldnt be blowing out copper head gaskets unless theres a problem

if your head gasket inner diameter is hanging over at all into the bore area ..your just begging for a seizure and engine failure . thats why they make the oversize gasket kits

a vitos big bore is 72mm piston bore. so no a stock gasket will not work by any means. Are you toqueing to spec?

when you do buy a big bore gasket, dont buy a VITOS higher compression one, those bumps that they put in the thicker gasket will eventually flatten and cause the inside diameter of the gasket to decrease, causing that copper gasket to hit the piston, i noticed mine was making a noise when i rebuilt it this past summer, i took it apart and noticed it put some marks in the top of the piston, i replaced it with a OEM gasket and up untill i blew my crank it never made that noise again

revin-it02....Im not sure where your getting this from. I can take a picture of a stock head gasket and a Vitos Big bore and you can easily see you can not run a Stock OEM Head gasket on a big bore kit.... AS for the high compression....vitos does not make a high compression head gasket for their big bore kit. AND their big bore gasket is .032 thick while their high compression head gasket is only .018 thick. If yours was hitting the piston...you either installed it wrong or ordered the wrong head gasket. Its just doesnt add up.
