were to put reed spacers for diff power?

i don't remember were to put the reed spacer to gain on top end, do i put it cylinder/spacer/reeds/manifold or cylinder/reeds/spacer/manifold, i know one way is supposed to gain top end and one way is supposed to gain more twords the bottom, i just need the spacer so my bigger carb clears my clutch cable but i want any gains on the top end of the revs, thanks guys

you have to put it before the reeds either way hence the name"reed spacer" if you did not it would not do any thing the hole purpose of the reed spacer is to pull the reed cage farther out

I have heard that before too, but have never seen a bike with one installed before the reed cage. It is supposed to space the reeds away from the cylinder to un-shroud the boost ports. I definatelly wouldn't put a spacer between the reeds and the carb boot... I had 3/8"spacer on my '90 LT250 and it did nothing for me. A friend of mine swears by them. I am gonna try one on my new cylinder just to see if it does anything...

yea i put one on my blaster also i could tell a gain throttle response was a lil better (not a big gain though)

i have one on mine...only because i need it to clear the aftermarket carb from the clutch pivot. i have mine cyl/spacer/reeds/manifold
i tried it cylinder/reeds/spacer/manifold and it ran like shit...

Yeah... the only thing it would do would make the incoming air charge have to travel farther before it got sucked through the reeds... I can't imagine how that would help anything.
