Blaster knocking...

Well.. today has been one very busy day .. the blaster LIVES.. but by the title as you can see something may be wrong..

Ok here is the deal the rod bearings are for sure good.. the rod is in great newish condition.. (not the hot rods it was "supposed to be" .. then again it was also supposed to be "ported" and have "1 hour on it" ... both BS .. but it does have great compression the rod is aftermarket but not a hot rods. but anyways back to the point.. starts first kick.. but my friend "I wouldn't know" hears a knocking sound on it.. this could be something bad or not.. IDK .. it revvs and runs strong as far as sitting (its just in running shape but not complete need to replace some things) now.. I'm trying to narrow this down.. I'll get banshee boy in here later to explain it since he cn better than I can... also excuse anything wrong I have went almost 36 hours no sleep and today has been a busy one.

but yeah come on people make a list of possible things.. the one thing that my friend mention was the crank bearing inside the motor.. which scared me because I cant afford to have it tore down and replaced and I don't think he feels comfortable doing it..


this is prolly all a dumb - are post.. I'll have him come and make sense of it later..

yea it could be the main crank bearings if you didnt put new ones in. what exactly does this knocking sound like/come from. its gonna make a slight knocking sounding to start with.......mine even does it. its probably nothing to really worry about.

I havent heard too many 2-strokes that dont make a little noise

Ok I called him in here.. maybe he can explain it... he has had ablaster before and has a shee now.. pretty sure he can tell when something is up

a quick thing you can can do is pop the stator side cover off and grab the flywheel and see if it moves up and down any, that will tell you if your bearings are worn out.

Ok, it the crank has a pro series rod on it, the rod bearings are in good shape..no play side to side or up and down...it felt real good. It idles pretty good but when you get to a higher rpm ( 1/2 throttle or so ) it makes a knocking/rattling noise..and to me it sounds like its coming from inside the engine..but that is kinda hard to be sure about...bc there is ALL kinds of things that are loose and hanging/vibrating all over the place so..it could be something like that. My blaster made the same noise ONE time..I was riding prolly 4th gear and when I hit about 1/2 throttle..( maybe a lil less) Instead of shifting it I kept it at that throttle point for just a second..and thats when it made the same noise..but..I just shifted and rode it. I was wondering if it could be the counter balancer ( blasters have one right? ) like maybe the bearing on it. Idk..but I rode the HELL out of mine non stop and it never made the noise again that I know of...and It never blew up or anything. So...we just figured we would ask you guys about it and get some other opinions. Thank you guys.

Yeh, I read this morning about a guy who said he got screwed over or something on a old dirtbike motor and he said that his crank bearings were bad because when he grabbed the stator it moved up and down..I should've checked today when 8-ball had the covor off..oh well its just a few screws..and definatly worth a shot, ky 2stroker we'll give that a try, thanks.

doesn't that mean I'd have to send it somewhere to have it worked on?.. I remember one time you said you wasn't sure about splitting it (that and of course the pain in the arse it would be)..
