runnin alky?

hi everyone im wanting to know som pros and cons to running alky in my blaster. its being rebuilt from a real bad blown piston witch put a hole in my crank case, now i have everything new my mechanic even put some his special port work on it and shaved the head. he let me test ride it to see if it had the extra power i wanted and said he may up the compresion and put it on alcohol. so i was wonderin what kinda power increase would i be lookin at, right now its not quite done yet but it has 34mm carb and vito's fat bastard pipe along with the porting. i just wanna kill those 400 slowstrokes lol

i basicly just wanna know will using alcohol give a more noticable gain over just using gas are is it not even worth doing.

Running alky will give u a noticeable gain....You will have to purge the engine after using alky....It's worth the cash for the power....

Like he said. You will like it. A modified air cooled motor will also benefit from the cooling effect of running methanol. Don't tell your 4 pokin buddies or they will call fowl after they lose to a lil ol' Blasty . Make sure you have a local suppler cause shipping it is insane.

i can get it fairly cheap though my mechanic cuz he use the stuff in his drag banshees that are insane to say the least.

and when you say purge do you mean like draining the gas tank or sumthin?

When I say purge I mean you have to run mixed gas through your motor after running alky to purge the alky out of the cylinders...alky will rust your cylinders if you let it sit....Your mechanic can show you how to do it I'm sure....

oh ok that makes sense, i just figued i would find out about this stuff my self befor hand so i would atleast know what to expect when everything is done.

when you purge your bike make sure you run a mixture of like 20:1 just to put some extra oil into the cylinder. also when you start the bike you will need to run at wide open until the 2000ml or what ever you run throw is gone.

thank you guys for the info, and i have one last question that i just thought of dealing with the sprocket. i have 18in tires on the back and i was wondering could i get more topend with bigger sprockets without changing the tires.
