| silcone is better, itll hold up to the heat and not melt, rubber will melt at a lower temp. but i doubt it will get hot enough to melt, silcone is more exp, the hose on mine feels like silcone. buy a billit one on ebay, if your old one is just leaking arould the pipe and its still intacted just buy 2 hose clamps and clamp on both sides, that would cost the least

| i tried silicone hose on mine and it melted so i got one of those aluminum ones off ebay....i looked at it and it was a piece of aluminum wrapped around the same kind of silicone hose that i used previously, so it melted too. Your best bet is just to buy the piece from yamaha, i have been using one for about 6 weeks, which is about six times as long as the other two combined lasted. it is really up to you though.
