Default reassembly probs....HELP

i spent the day putting in my new vitos 3 mil stroker, but now im having some problem getting the friggin thing back together. i got the case halves back together fine but i cant figure out the primary drive gears. the clymer manual shows that you slide the big collar over the crank then shows that you should have room for the 2 gears to slide on afterward. well i dont. when i slide the big A collar on the crank there is just enough room for the big gear that runs the balancer. the manual almost makes it sound as if the collar is supposed to go into the seal, which then it would work but there is no friggin way your getting it in the seal. even holding the old seal up to it there is no way it was ever in there. hopefully that makes sense, and any help would be appriciated. I also was wondering about the crank, i replaced the main bearings and seals while i had it apart and evything spun free, but now that i have the cases make together the crank is kinda hard to turn. it turns smooth, but its just tight, im assuming that is just because evrything is new and hasent loosend up yet????

The bearings are tighter on the Vito's crank than they are on the stock crank, it should spin just as free as the stock crank did, the bearings aren't seated in the case or on the crank all the way.

The coller behind the two gears in the case is the seal ride, it does go into the seal, it'll slide right in grease the shit out of the seal (I use molly grease) or else it'll melt to the crank and you'll be doing it again!, grease the seal behind the flywheel too, or you'll be putting in a new piston too!

the bearing get a little waked when putting in i put the same crank in my old blaster get a deep well socket that will fit over the the crank shaft andput it on the center of the bearing and give a little tap . im not saying to beat the livin sh*t out it just to tap it. the bearing center is bein push outward so by tapin them theyll release the pressure try to turn the crank as u do that i built my blaster in 06 put several hours on it over six months of riding on it every day still running as we speak. You may also want to put a oring behind the collar so the oil cant leak between the shaft and the collar

as 250r king has stated i also had a tight fitting vitos 3mm crank...and the inner crank bearing race needed a little motivation to get seated far enough on the crankshaft.mine was tight just as you described.

yep if its tight it is usually misalgined in the cases and need centered up ,it should spin freely.. of coarse not quite as easy as stock due ot the brand new bearings but yo u should beable to grab the connecting rod and manualy pump it around very easy with one use a big rubber mallet not a steel hammer

make sure the rod clears the case completely at the top before you re-assemble it, you might need to file the case down a little and it would suck to have to take it all apart again.
