Default TRX450R Rear shock on my Blaster

I got an 06' TRX450R rear shock, not even used they put an aftermarket shock on the bike right away, for $50 on ebay. Puttin it on really wasnt that bad, i went to fastenal and got a bolt and some washers, if you want to do this its just a 10mm bolt, I had to drill out the bottom shock mount a little to recieve the stock pin. I had to take off the left washer on the top shock mount and that was probably the hardest part of the entire project. I got most of it off with a chissel and a 2lb sledge, but the back half is welded all the way around so i had to get out the grinder for that. I welded 2 of the 10mm washers on both sides about 2/3 the way around the washer then used a bunch of washers for spaceing, on the bottom shock mount in the middle i used a spacer for an alternator from a mercruiser inboard engine and 2 washers, fits perfect. I had to cut of the front right rear fender mount for the shock to clear. I heated the front of the air box and put it on there with a few layers of cardboard between the shock and plastic and it was perfect but after riding for a bit it bent back into the shock so i guess i will have to do that again. The ride is very stiff but its not bad at all, jumps way better than before, and its still at stock settings so I can make it softer.

Yeah you are definitely gonna have to soften it up for trail riding or it's gonna beat you to death.
