Default 400ex rear shock too long?

Well i know with mods it will bolt right up.But my problem is that at 15 and 1/2 inches its about an 1/2 inch longer than stock.I thought that the rear should sit lower than the front ,right?Well what if i was to drill out the lower hole on the shock to 14 and 1/2?That would be just a little shorter.So my question is whats better taller or shorter?Thanks

I just put a 450r rear shock on mine, it works great, as for the length, the 450 was maybe a half inch longer and it really didnt make much of a difference, i just had to loosen up the spring alot but it is perfect now, but i weigh about 230 lbs. Does the 400ex shock have a resivour, mine does but i had to modify my frame a little for it to fit.

Yes it does have a rezzy.I just got one off of ebay for 34$.Well whats the cons for putting this longer shock on a blaster?Will it put any pressure on anything i should know of.Im about 190 pounds.Like i said i could drill another hole about a inch shorter on the bottom hole mount but then it would be an 1/2inch shorter.Im just wondering how well that would work with my front banshee shocks.Anybody else tried to drill another hole in the bottom before?Thanks
