| So I'm breaking down and buying my girlfriend an '05 Blaster so she doesn't have to keep getting off the back of the banshee everytime I want to do a hillclimb or a jump. The thing is I'm not really all that familiar with blasters. I know the whole oil block-off plate thing, but is there anything else that a blaster needs right away? Keep in consideration that I'm not going to go crazy with it right away because this is just for her to fly around on.

| i just got my blaster fired up for the first time in 3 months today. since then i've installed an oil block off cpi inframe drag pipe and a twist throttle...and let me tell you for a stock bore that thing rips now lol...... gotta do a lil work with the jettin to get the pipe runnin just rite...but i'm very pleased. and for a good setup you have to tell us what kind of riding she'll be doin...you'll either want suspension upgrades or engine upgrades. |

| I'm not looking to go ape-shit with this one really. She's going to be riding everywhere (trails, silts-pits, track, etc...) that we go. But Its something to look into for the future. The reason I'm buying a new one is cuz I can get the new 05 for $2,599 and used 01's are selling for at least $1,800 around here. Heck $800 more for a new one... why not? I want one of the newer ones with the hydraulic disk brakes instead of those junk drums. I know what you mean about the tires. I was looking at them and shaking my head.

When I was out on Sunday I saw a kid on a Blaster that had an FMF pipe with a Toomey silencer. It sounded damn good for being a mismatch though. Everybody's posts are on par with what I thought. I was just curious if there was anything other than the usual (besides the block-off plate) that I should jump on quick. It's for a 135lbs. girl that has had some experience but probably won't get really nuts until she gets some more experience. Of course you do realize I'm going to have to beat it too! poor, poor blaster....
