Default Yamaha Yz80 problems

I have a '82 Yamaha Yz80. I got it from my brother'n law. Here reciently i have done alot of work to it and i am fresh out of ideas, because last week i was rideing it and when i went to put more gas in it that i had just mixed it would not start. Well i gave it a little gas still nothing. I gave it all it had it ran for about andother tank of gas on what should have been wide open, but it was only idleing. There is nothing wrong with my throttle and it wont start. It ran great until that last tank of gas then it started spittin and studderin like it was runnin outta gas so i filled it up and all that happened so i said forget it for now until i figure what is wrong this time . Who every reads this do you think and fresh bore and new rings and piston will fix my problem? Or hit me with a few ideas please.

Maybe you mixed it too rich or you didnt shake it up really good. Sometimes my bike does that if I dont mix the gas until its perfectly blended.

hmmmmm something like that happend to my blaster and you might need a top end rebuild or you can check you plugs or you could have some clogged jets and just need to take apart the carb and clean it out.

an easy way to do a compression test is stick you thumb over the sparkplug hole and kick it over and it should pop you thumb off if you have good compression.
