Default Hide a key

I want to get this for some added security- the hide a key plate that you can get for the banshee that mounts under the seat. The thing is i dont think anyone makes this for the blaster. Is there anyway i can get it??

im sure you could make something or find a good hiding place instead of wasting money on something that mounts under the seat. Try maybe gluing a magnet up under the front end of ur blaster like under the headlight or somwhere thats not easy to see. Im sure someone could easily find a hide a key plate espeically if they're advertised alot. If you want added security you could also take ur plug wire off ur sparkplug or something like that. Keys dont really add any security if someone really wants to steal your quad because they could just rip apart the place where the key mounts and disconnect the plug from the bottom of the key and go because im sure a theif wouldnt care about 50$ worth of damage on the plastic for a quad thats worth a few thousand.

Yea but most of the time they are looking for an easy job and a lot of times arent very smart and dont know how to do all of that. Speaking of stolen quads after i went riding i put the cover on tight and the next time i went riding i found the covers half-off of our quads and i know they couldnt have blown off. There was a couple of break-ins a couple of days before so it didnt surprise me too much

i can hotwire my blaster between 30 and 60 seconds lol. keys add no security if the person stealing it knows ne thing about wiring/mechanics. so if they are dumb as F. then ur quad is safe.....but if they are that stupid they will get caught before they even get to ur quad lol. so far the best thing is seen is a teather kill switch. put one of those on and pull it out when ur done with the quad.

I know someone that just got rid of a 96 blaster that they had a toggle switch on. It was hidden on the frame under the plastic. You also needed your key to start it. It was just a switch before the key. That way if someone just tried to hotwire it using the wires at the key it would never work. That's very simple, cheap, and probably far more effective than any other method if you hide the switch well and try to keep it the same color as the crap it's around.

Tether switches don't add much security either unless you get like a DESS system from a ski-doo snowmobile. Tether switches can be taped on or someone could just rip the wires right off of the thing. I could see a tether switch working if you hid it somewhere but if you placed it on the handlebars or whatever and popped it off then it would take you another 15 seconds on top of hotwiring the quad to steal it

AND if the blasters still have kickstarts like they did when they first came out then you could spend 30 seconds looking at the wires and just cut all the wires that go to the lights, key, etc.

ok blasters are probaly the easiest quad to steal. the 2 wires commin into the key you just cut one and your ready to go the key just grounds a hot (like TORS does) when the key is off (it works just like a teather) just snip a wire and that kils the ground to the hot and away you go. sucks huh. your best bet is a hidden toggle like somebody said. or just put it in storgae and lock it up really good. or how bout this if you have multiple quads use a loggin chain and a cut proof padlock. they won;t be able to get tehm without a oxy/acetaleyne torch even then it would take a while ha ha

Ok where can i get a toggle switch cause im gonna be putting a sh*t load of money in this thing($3000-$4000) mostly because im gonna be racing next year. If my aunt gets all her crap out of our second shed(will hold three quads) then we can put them in there and lock the shed too. But i dont know how long its gonna be before that happens

If your worried about it getting stolen at night when ur not going to be near it for awhile then someone could just push it to their truck and it would probably take 3 strong guys to lift a blaster into the back of a truck because they dont hardely weigh anything. I think your best bet would be to chain it up to something so it cant be moved without your consent.
