hey everybody, hows it going. is it ok to take a two stroke on long rides on pavement at higher speeds. my blaster is registered to be ridden on county roads and i was wanting to know if a 5 mile or more ride would do damage? i would not be running top speed but probably about 45-50

also ive read comments on this forum about dont let a two stroke idle very long and to keep it at a higher rpm because if you dont it wont oil the top of the motor enough, but you also say dont get them to hot. it seems like if you are constantly keeping the rpms high that the motor is bound to get hot. any comments are appreciated.

Hey, You can run as fast, as long, and as much up and down the pavement as you want. It will wear your tires more than dirt will but I run roads all the time and I use about 2 sets of rear tires per summer. other than that no dammage at all. as for running hard and high rpm and temp... its best to alter the rpms a little, I run for about 3-5 miles at 3/4 to full throttle on my banshee and have no problems. You dont wanna hold it wide open for too long but you can for a little while. as long as you are getting good air on your motor you will be fine. and just slow it down for a little and go up and down with the rpms and it wont hurt a thing... peace!!

all i had to do was fill out a form for the dmv and pay them $30 for 3 years. i think you have to be at least 16, but i dont know if you need a license. in indiana i can register to ride it on country roads legally, but i still can not ride it in all counties. i know it doesnt make a lot of sense, but neither does our weather.------lol

yeah it depends on what state your in i think. cause here in new york your not allowed on the roads unless crossing at a 45 degree angle to reach another trail. my son just got a ticket for it among other things( riding on a public hwy-DWI-no insurance-no registration-resisting arrest-assault on a police officer ect.,ect.) WOW and he gets 3 months of weekends and 900.00 fine. i just get DWI and i end up with 90 days and 700.00 fine. go figure.

Yeah it does depend on the state. I've heard that in Indiana, some of the southern counties well allow you to ride on county roads, not highways, duh, as long as your registered with the indiana DNR. Up here in the northern part of the state, if they see you on the road, they impound your quad and stuff if they're feeling like a dickhead that day, and they usually are. Thats when you just jump the ditch and cut thru a field or something...hehe

wow that sucks... I live in upstate NY and in my town (and all of the towns near by) you are allowed to ride on any town owned road as long as you obay the laws. you cant touch a state highway unless its to just cross, like you said at a 45 degree angle.. or on the sholder just to cross a bridge.. other than that you cant touch state roads but town roads are good to go...

makes me kinda glad to live in southern indiana. we are allowed to cross highways at a 90 degree angle, but we are not allowed to ride in any towns, unless in a parade or the town is shutdown because of bad weather. ive only seen that happen twice and im 36 years old
