Well, I'm not bragging (being a 4-stroke, this wouldnt be the site to do so, eh?) But this is not a Raptor. Its a pile of parts given to me to prove whether I had the skills to do so or not. The subframe and rear caliper from an 83 KLR600, the front frame and suspension from an 87 LT250R, the rear suspension and axle from an 86 ATC350X, the engine was an 83 XS650 that was converted to a 277 crank with an 850 big-bore kit and altered web cam, the entire body plastic and seat and tank from an 01 Raptor, and those are just the larger items. The machine comprises the parts from no less than 25 different others. The idea was can I build a racer for less than $250 if I had the stuff. Kinda like that lame-ass jesse-whoever show but I couldn't call buddies for a $10,000 "freebie" part. I had to use what was in the pile, the money was to be used for consumables such as welding wire or gas or new flapper wheels and emory belts. No new M/C or ATV parts allowed. It ran like a bat outta hell and won several ice drags and ice oval races, that being the season I built it. It cost me $128 in consumables. I sold it for a mint 78 CR250 elsinore, a nice condition 97 Mojave (they suck even in nice shape) and $1200.

cool quad but a H2 engine would been cooler. but thats just because i'm a very biased 2 stroke lover. but yeah i'm diggin the pile of parts made into a winning drag racer. thats kinda what i'm doing with my Z but not nearly to that extent

Considering both the insane weight of the XS650 engine and the work required just to get it into the 70hp area, I would have gone with something more easily workable as well. But, as I said, I had to use what was at hand. I would have liked an H2 or T500 to use but couldn't. It took me 2 weeks, working in a 5' X 9' storage shed. I had to do it at home. Being the most vibrating bike in existance, getting it smooth was the hardest part. After having to learn that area putting any dirtbike mill into a quad frame is reasonably easy for me now. For you guys with dirt mills in quad/trike frames having foamy brake fluid problems......buy some two-part casting rubber, mix with a thinning agent if needed, cap one end and fill the handlebars full. If you're experiencing really bad vibration, you can drill holes in the top of your vertical frame tubes and pour the same stuff into the frame itself. It works miracles. Having a mill and lathe really helps in making some custom parts like engine mounts and floating bar mounts. Anyhoooo, I saw people were talking about a liquid cooled DT200 mill being put on a Blaster. Never seen this Canadian bike, anyone got an idea as to how hard getting one would be? 31hp stock over the blasters 17hp would be pretty cool. (also save a nice 250R mill for where it belongs)

the DT200 and the blaster are the same engine. actualy youi can proabably unbolt teh blaster engine and bolt the DT engien right in. i'l have to do a bit of research to seeof that in fact was teh right engine (Dt200 that is) i'l check and post agin. o i understand about the "using what you had" thing. i just like the big 750 triples
