Default Blaster kill switch

I've got a 2000 blaster, and the kill switch and key don't turn it off. This has been going on since july, and i have to just stall it out. What do you think the problem is and how hard will it be to fix it??

just check the wiring, the connection is probably frayed or loose.

Both the kill and the key.........would seem to be in the area by the coil/CDI. Look for a black wire with a white stripe, probably either dirty connection or disconnected. This wire will come from the CDI to a double bullet socket branching off to both the key and kill switch making a looped connection to the frame ground located near the coil.

Last year my dad always used to take the blaster key away...so I just disconnected it and use the kill switch...its nice and looks pretty cool without it. And I can always reconnect it for when I take it places.

Yamaha is famous for that. It's why they are so easily stolen. Their sleds are the same way. When my friends Exciter was stolen I put a small flip switch in my SRX under the hood. Found my plug removed from the switch twice but didnt lose my sled.
