Manual Blaster brakes suck

Coming down a rocky mountain trail at 10PM last night, the skin ripped off my right front brake shoe. Metal on metal, instantly locked up slid a bit to the right grip tore off the handlebar and threw me over the bike and I rolled down the rocks for a good 30 feet. Big ass rocks too. Kinda stiff this morning. Stupid Blaster didnt have the decency to take any damage, just me. Good thing I wear complete riding gear. Gotta get some new grips that dont tear, those soft gel junks just don't cut it.

You can get a kit to change them to hydraulic but I think it's kinda pricy. I bought a 2005 blaster a few months ago and the last few years models have had hydraulic brakes on them. I debated on getting a used blaster but I didn't want one with those manual brakes. I knew they were bad, but I didn't know they were that bad.

Here is a rear brake kit on ebay to check out. I remember pricing the front and rear kits before deciding what to buy and I think both were expensive.

I was looking www.projectblaster.com and they have both front and back hydraulic brake kits but like you said they are expensive. But i didn't really have a choice of the quad i got. If i did i might have ended up with a 4-joke

and you still have to get some banshee calipers, reservoir, brakes, lines, master cylinder and discs (let me know what I missed there) to make it work!!! That is friggen crazy. That's why I need to start an atv parts business.

Oh crap you're right i didn't even really look at it the first time. I guess i'm not gonna ever have hydraulic fronts but i'm gonna get a rear hydraulic brake kit

Yeah, the rear brake kits look feasible. I'm wondering if a used ATV parts place will start having some stock blaster front hydraulic brake kits available soon. I picked up a new front spindle for my banshee @ eastcoastatv.com. They are only about 30-40 minutes from my parents house so we just drove down and picked that up for less than half the price yamaha would've charged me.

Yamaha's prices are rediculous. This was probably a typo, but on their site it said 1 quart of oil was $55!!! If that's true, i need to find out what they're smoking so i can get some
