How Fast is a YZ250 Bone Stock?

I posted a reply earlier about the YZ and not many people replied so i made this one. I would like to know hoe fast a YZ250 is stock, i ride on fire roads alot and speed is important to me. I am very close to purchasing one at the moment but i still want this question to be answered if at all possible.

there really is no 'top speed' so many things alter this, from location, to the brand of gas/oil that is run. they are plenty fast stock, if not throw on a pipe/silencer, reeds and a good filter and it will be better.

Whats the top speed of a stock yzf350? i dont think i have ever heard what the stock top speed is.

Thanks for the reply but io rel;ize those are all factors that effect its speed. Still I would like to be givin an estimate to say the least if that is at all possible. It doesnt have to be exact.

don't hold me to this but I would say around 75-80, but keep in mind its been a long time since I have been around any bikes, so my numbers may be to high or to low. but dirt bikes haul a$$. so a yz250 should be plenty fast stock until you get good with it then you can add a few modifications to it.

While riding on my XR600 and my brother on my 79 YZ250, the XR's speedo read 82mph.

I would say with a bone stoker it would prob be around 75 mph. Gearing would make the most significant difference in speed and this depends on what gearing your "stock" bike is. Throughout the different years, the Yz 250's were changed slightly as far as stock gearing.

yz roughly 73 mph banshee roughly 72 mph

i clocked my shee at 74 mph. man that was a rush!!! that was bone stock too.

All I know is that I can't keep up with a YZ250 when I'm topped out- That's with a guy who had never ridden the YZ before, with a screwed up shifter, and me staying in 6th the whole time- holy shit! lol
