how long did you take?

basically i just got done building a blaster(in sig line) and am working on breaking it in. the clymer manual says 20 hours of no more than 1/2 throttle . so far i have like 2 hours on it of just putting around and i am getting bored out of my mind, so i know im not gonna last 20. so how long did u guys break your biks in for?

2 full tanks. I have had to probs. I have a lt500r.

two heat cycles of 5 mins a piece and in between retorque everything down then take it up and down the road at half throotle and this blimp it and come back in then retorque then it basically broken in with this one tank of gas

prolly only 1 hour total for me and now i rip on my banshee real hard.

i want to take my time and do it right because i dont have the money to rebuild this thing again. i thought the clymer manual was a little excessive in its recomended break in. but i also kinda think just like one hour of puttin around doesnt seem like enough. but then agian i dont really know that much about how long it takes rings to seat either, so i wanted so see what some of you guys did. so far i did like 4 heat cycles of prob mins run then, 10 cool down and retorqued then like 2 hours of puttin around.

if the motor is brand new then your not suppose to go over half throttle for 20 hrs, thats to get the tranny gears to mesh properly, on a top end rebuild run it for two 5 - 10 min heat cycles and retorqe the head nuts
