Angry something is terribly wrong!

okk well i rode my blaster in winter, and the next day i went out to start it and it didn't start, so i took the head off beleiving i blew the motor but the piston was fine....... so i put it back together crank her up she starts but when i gave it gas it will make a clangging sound and boggggggggg. the carb is set up correctly. has spark, compression, new gaskets, fresh fuel and premixed. at first we thought the clanging was in my pipe but i took it off and found nothing! the skirt of the piston is fine. the top is a lil burnt. when i decided to drain the tranny i found some scratches on the bolt (from the inside of the motor) i sand it smooth put it back in started it up then took it out agian and found more markings. what could be hitting that? my buddies think my crank bearings are shot as well as the seals.

any ideas would be appreciated. thanks

the crank bearings are no were near the drain bolt, but it sounds to me like something is loos in your tranny, tear it apart and find out, you might as well change the crank bearings and the seals while it is appart

Is ur e-brake still hooked up? Last fall a buddy of mine was riding his blaster and went trew some water. Started runnung like shit. ping and clang from the motoer. It would only rev so far as it made the bad sounds. Sounds like a really bad miss fire. Come to find out the wires on the handle bars by the clutch lever got a little water on them. It was the one for the e-brake. Unpluged the wire blew it off and it ran great after that. Try this before tearing it apart.
