| well the piston literally detonated and sent aluminum all over the bottom end, so i did a top and bottom rebuild, while doing so I assembled the transmission wrong the first time. But after learning how to do it, I was able to tear down the motor, fix it, and assemble it in 4 hours.

| Nice bike! Did you port the cylinder or modify anything else besides the basket? Good lookin basket too, what brand is that?

| The basket looks like a wiseco. No need for a press on that gear. Stick the basket in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes and the gear in the freezer and it will drop right in with no force.

| it's an 2000 yamaha yz250 ![]() and porting on these PV'd Race bikes really doesn't add significant power like it would on a shee. but if ya wanna run race fuel, you can get some pretty dang goo power out of it by shaving the head and run some VF3 reeds ![]()

| "Stick the basket in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes and the gear in the freezer and it will drop right in with no force." wow... if only i knew about that before... alot of sweat, concentration, tenderness, and stress went into gettning that gear in without cracking the basket.. Its a ProX racing clutch basket, that is significantly lighter than the stock one. No porting or anything towards peformance was done except for the clutch basket, the bike already has some decent power, and since I've only been riding for 4 months, its definitely enough for me. I took it for a rip down the road, right when it hit powerband it felt like a punch in the face lol!
