Why does the throttle turn backwards?

i noticed that the throttle turned backwards too but thaught it was just me looking at it wrong or somthing...

LOL, no the throttle turns the correct way, I still have the remove the twist part and clean it when i paint the bars, it's grungy or whatever underneath or inside, and if I don't twist it back it sticks. So it looks like I am cracking it forward but if ya watch I crank it backwards to rev first.
