Banshee Top Speed

Ran the banshee last night with the GPS tie rapped to the handlebars. Got a top speed of 71.5 mph in the dirt, 76.8 on the pavement. I'll call it 77MPH. Not bad. I think someone said I'd only get 71 mph out of her.

Does anyone read ATV Sport magazine?

The April 05 issue has a "trans atlantic" banshee with a gear ratio of 16/36. They say the banshee was easily hitting over 100MPH durring the 12hrs of Pont de Vaux.

77mph feels like I'm flying, I couldnt imagine 100+. At those speeds, you better hope all of your nuts and bolts are on tight...on the quad too.

stock she @sea level on flat land is usually rated 72mph. regardless of hp your gearing is gonna really determine your top speed unless of coarse your bike doesnt have the nutz to pull that gear ,17/41 gearing on ported 4millstroker shes easily breaks over 100mph

I'm happy no one is arguing with me.

That shee in the mag. runs an 18" rear tire, but reguardless, 16/36 is a pretty crazy gear ratio, I bet that thing is capable of way over 100mph.

yeah, but it better have an agressive port job and some bumped up compression or itll be a dog outta the hole .thats a pretty tall ratio

yeah a 2.25:1 ratio is very very tall.....

The banshee with that tall ratio is very built. It a 378cc stroker with some super dooper porting, a Trinity head ect...

So what would you expect a piped shee to run? I'm sure I dont have to tell you, but like said before, power doesnt really play a role in top speed (at these speeds anyway), it's all about the gear ratio. Ofcourse to pull an even taller gear more power would be needed.

keep in mind a 1980 yugo can go 90 mph ,but that doesnt mean its fast getting there

i can only see 76.. 77 would be totaly impossilbe.. hahahahahahaha
