rear sprocket torque

2004 limited....put new sprockets on front and rear.....was torquing the rear 6 bolts and they started to strip at 35 ft lbs...????? these are susposed to be like 42 to 44 foot pounds....what the hell.....I know my right hand is over developed because I dumped the girlfriend awhile back but what the hell ????? any body else had this problem.....and I was using a torque wench.....are the 6 studs in the hub hard to get out ???? vicegrips ????? thanx
