For higher top speed, you can go with a bigger gear on the front and/or a smaller gear on the rear (drive gears on the chain of course). Keep in mind, the bigger you go in the front (or the smaller you go in the rear) the more low end torque you'll lose (slower acceleration). Probably start with just a tooth or two difference.

Or you can just go with some slightly taller tires too... does the same thing.

Larger front gear/ smaller Rear = higher top speed/ slower acceleration (lower torque)
Smaller front gear/ Larger Rear = slower top speed/ quicker acceleration (higher torque)

(does not actually change the torque at the engine...just the torque at the drive wheels)

If you already have a "Monstrous Torquey Machine" then you might see improvement in acceleration as well because of the taller gear ratio (more speed per gear), but for the average machine you could lose some acceleration to gain top speed. It's a tradeoff... Acceleration or top speed. You usually don't get both...

EXCEPT...To improve acceleration AND top speed... Gear it for top speed, and add some more power to your machine.

Hope that helps... you can always play with the "speed calculator" on the "Other" tab at the top of the screen, too.

Good luck!

switch to a 14 front and keep back at stock size that should get you closer to 80mph or a 15 to hit 85mph ,to hit 90 + your gonna need some portwork for the power and even taller gearing to actually hit those high a numbers.

yeah 90mph is not easy to come by and still have a quad that fun to ride... goto stock gearing 14/41 try that you'll be right close to the 75-80 range.. oh why exactly do youi neeed to go 90mph???
