Default revs with no power

for some reason my shee is revving fast but doesn't make any power. i mean it feels normal but then it never gets into the powerband never really opens up at wot. ( it doesn't bog at all)

so i figure i must be lean but i pull both plugs and they look great( tan cardboard color). it was jetted back when it was about 60 degrees and now its about 70. i haven't changed anything since it was jetted

i also tried running it with the choke on and that didn't help at all

i also cleaned my filters and it made no difference.

it seems to lead to the idea that i'm too rich, but the rev with no power is usually a sign of lean jetting, right?

it also idles kinda higher than normal

someone also told me that weak reeds can lead to this problem.
any ideas?


it is a 98 banshee and these are the mods: 28mm keihn pwk carbs,trued and welded crank,, prodesigns coolhead 20cc domes, fmf fatties power core silencers, k&n clamp on's, boost bottle,mild trail port ,pro designs adjustable timing plate,pro designs reed spacers, boysen power rad valves, carbon fiber reeds

check your reeds, and clean your carbs really good then see what that does for you. that were i would start

pull your carbs and intake off. the reed cages are held on the jugs with the same bolts as the intake

yeah see if they are craked broke or even stuck open. also check to make sure that they are tight all the way around the edges covering the cage holes

whats your jetting on those kehins? id bet your running too lean a clip position on your carbs and/or overlapping into another circuit ....,almost gaurentee it
