Default Blaster -Boss

I'm try to take/repalce Boss (Clutch Part) out of my 2001 Blaster, is there a special method of doing this? The Clymer Manual shows a special tool that is used, can I do this without the tool? If not, what is the tool called?

Thanks!

I'm not too sure what BOSS is, but the only part i know in a clutch that needs a special too, would be the clutch hub er clutch basket whatever. But anyways, you can get the tool at a Parts Unlimited for like 15 bucks. i tried doing it without the tool, and i broke the clutch hub, so...i think your better off getting the tool.

Yes, there is the Clutch House and the CLutch Boss is inside of that. I just ordered a Clutch/Flywheel tool from JC Whitney for $25. I have 4 Blasters and I'm sure that I will be using it more than once.

A very very needed tool, even for the casual mechanic. Back in my poor days I had to learn how to do the job without the tool. Busted a couple baskets. Sucked really bad when that happened.

Check out the Motion Pro clutch hold tool. I know there prices are expensive however there clutch tool also can hold the magnito which is very helpful. Can't remember what they cost but worth it.
