| A top end rebuild will cost you about $85 to $100 for a good complete top end kit. Should include piston, rings, wrist pin, bearing, circlips, and gaskets. Depending on the damage (if any) you may need a new bore... take it to a shop you trust and they'll probably charge between $25 and $75 depending if it needs to be bored over or just honed and cleaned up. Have them look at it BEFORE you buy the top end kit... Anyway... if it's not turning over just go through the usual suspects. Pull the plug and see if it's fouled, check for spark while you're there, make sure the carb is getting fuel, and check the reeds.

| You know, if the chances of mud getting through are there, the chances you simply sucked in some water are even greater. If you heard burbling from the airbox, I'd say the water chances get even higher. Before you sweat it too hard, pull the plug and look for water on the tip. Make sure you have spark by placing the plug in the plugboot and laying it against the head while kicking it over. The spark comes from a different source coil than the light. If you have spark, kick it a few times with the plug out to try to clear the jug a bit. Put a new plug in, choke it, and kick. Even without a lid, I doubt you got mud in the intake. The filter would have prevented that from happening and the only other way would be if you have a leak in the intake or carb boot. Both would have made you run like shit BEFORE you hit the puddle. I live in New England and hit water all the time. I even carry a small bottle of isoprofyl alcohol mixed with 2-stroke oil to toss in the intake for when I get swamped. I add an ounce or so, lift the back of my quad high in the air and let someone bump the engine over. The alcohol is hygroscopic, which means it instantly absorbs water. The extra will pour into the pipe with the rear lifted and the remainder will usually burn on the first few kicks. |

| If you got water in your motor you crank case oil will also turn a grey white color. In any case it's always good to change your oil if you went though lots of water. Go with what everyone else has said and in worse case just let it sit for a day or so. Water in the electical will make it bogg down like you said it did. I had that happen to my banshee and I had to sit there with a hose and spray it in each area for a little while to make it bog down so I could find the leak. So that is what I would do. I know on my banshee when I took my lid off did you make something to hold the filter inplace? Mine the filter would be way off and there would be a huge hole if I didn't make something to hold it in place. You should also look at getting a water proof outerwear to help in sitiuations like this. Good luck and let us know how you make out

| The Blaster air filter is held in by a bolt down cage, the lid is just that, a lid. |
