| I just recently bought a Yamaha AT1, 2, or 3. I don't knoww which one exactly but, I DO know that it's a 1971, 1972, or 1973 model. Anyway, the crankshaft seal on the left side needs to be replaced and I don't have any way to get the armature off. So, if anyone knows where I can get an armature puller, that would be great. And I've already searched all over the internet, my Chapparel catalog, Dennis Kirk, and nothing. And Motion Pro doesn't make one; already looked at their stuff. So far, all I've found is a picture of one. And even if someone knows the dimensions of it, like the bolt diameter and the thread pitch, that would certainly be a big help. I can alway chuck a piece of steel up in a lathe a turn one out myself. |

| I don't know what the setup looks like but for pulling anything off a shaft you can usually put the nut back on (if it's a threaded shaft) to protect the threads and then strike the shaft with a hammer while prying out on the armature, etc. You might have to buy a new nut but it works great. Just be careful some shafts are softer metal than others, you don't want to tear it up too bad or mess the threads up, try it a little and then check to see you're not damaging anything. |
