Question Premix Ratio

when you use standard hardware store 2 cycle oil, what ratio do you use? I have an old yamaha dt 100 and I use 25:1 I'm getting some smoke but it seems to run fine just a little under par in power range , any suggestions?

I wouldn't use that oil at all, that kind of stuff is made for weedwackers and stuff, not for highperformance engines,

even an old 100cc dt engine can benefit from the lubrication proertys of high quality oils ,your gonna notice a big difference i n start ups, revving, and plug fouling, oil mung build-up,and all around performance by simply switching to a 40-1 ratio on high quality good shit over that craftsman chainsaw/weedeater $.99 crap youve been hurting your engine with.
