| wasnt it 2003 that yamaha put hydrolic brakes on the blaster? I'd put hydrolic brakes on it, I also heard banshee brakes would fit with alittle moding |

| Where can i find the aftermarket hydrolic brake systems? Quote:

| stay away from trenga...he's an ass. and warrior rear brakes work great. i can hook you up with a guy that sells the mounts to put the new caliper on the back. the warrior and banshee rear brakes actually work better than those 300 dollar kits they sell for the blaster. and another cheap option that doesn't work as good (this is what i did.) i got a motion pro blaster rear brake kit. it eliminates the rear parking brake. you still have your front parking brake. but it makes it alot easier to mash down on the pedal and ur brakes don't stick as bad when u let off the pedal so in turn they dont wear as fast. and also what i do to my pads is i pull them off and take a lil cuttin wheel on a dremel tool and cut a big X across the pad. this helps water or w/e drain out and bites against the disc a lil better. |

| Cutting that X in the pads is a hella good idea. Do they still last a long time? My only bad thoughts about that would be maybe when the pads get hot they may crack. Have you had any problems with that?

| ok heres the deal with blaster rear brakes. they brake when they get wet and they comunadjusted all the time. ok heres the fix the easiest way is to buy a banshee, warrior, or raptor rear caliper, line, mastercyl, and rezzie. then the caliper bolts right on if you have a banshee caliper. you'll need to tack weld a mount to the frame for the mastercyl (don;t worry it's not hard.) just take a piece of 1/8in steel. and trace the mastercyl. use i as a guide then cut out that piece and make sure you leave enought to tack to the frame. then you'll have to midify your brake lever justa little to mike it connect up. it really sounds way harder than it really is. other than that just find a place to mount the rezzie and your good to go. search on this site and i think i posted a link to this same proceedure in the forums somewhere. i think it'; sin the blaster rear brakes forum but i'm not sure. or a good idea is to check out www.blastercentral.com back when i had my blaster that site helped me out alot. i htink it's that site that also has instuctions and pictures to use banshee front brakes on a blaster and still use blaster spindles.(the secret is a spacer) anyway hope this helps |

| yep that is the best way to go is with a warrior/banshee brake system. in total your lookin at maybe 60 bucks or so. i'd reccommend that over what i did. now what i did made a world of dif. but does not compare to hydraulics. aslo i drag so i don't really care about back brakes as long as they aren't dragging. but i've been slottin my rear pads ever since i got the blaster. and i rode trails very hard for 3 years. i've never cracked a pad. but yes they do where a bit faster... but i was runnin emgo pads (which are the cheapest ones out there lol) i'd have to replace them twice a year. (got a pack for like 10 bucks) but it makes a good dif. but i'd still go with hydro's ![]() |

| Is there a way to take brakes from an 03 or later blaster and just put it on the old one? Theres a bunch of places you can order replacement parts for your quad(such as www.albaaction.com) and i was wonderin if i could order the brakes from them then put them on my quad |
