Default Blaster is not for me

OK, got this lightly tricked out blaster in a trade. FMF Fatty, Q-silencer, Hot Rod stroked crank, 240 cylinder kit, 32 Keihen flatside, Ram valve intake with carbon reeds, reed spacer, Vito's block-off, and a couple other minor things. This Blaster rips the pits and fries almost anywhere you can imagine. And it's a complete pile of crap to me. I'm 6'2". That means my knees continuously slam the fender right where the support bolts to it. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone found a good solution that doesnt require eliminating the fenders?

If you're 6'2" what the hell are you doing on a blaster? I'm 6'1" and I sometimes ride the blaster I bought for my girlfriend and I don't have this knee slamming problem... just hold on! She hits her inner knees on the frame below the gas tank just about every ride. Her knees are usually black and blue from it. I don't know what to tell ya!

i would say get race cut fenders or just take em off or cut holes where your knees hit then you wouldnt have that prob. but if you really want to stretch the frame out but that requires a lot of work i would think.

Well my uncle is about 6'2'' and he's ridden my blaster and fits on it fine. He had no problem with it with the stock fenders.

Just my $0.02

I like the local pit. I ride up this one bowl-sided spot that has this huge bump in the middle. I like to ride the bowl and jump while at a sideways angle of something like 30 degrees. Real tricky. Anyways, when I land I'm still at a 30degree angle and I get kinda tossed to the upward side of the quad. I always slam my knee into the fender brace. After a few times, it kinda gets to smarting. No, I'm not gonna look for a different spot, this ones way too much fun. As for why I'm on a Blaster? Heh heh. This guy comes over to my shop with the Blaster, 02 model, has a crap-load of spare parts and extras like pre-mounted tires and such. He heard that I had an old 90 model TW200. After seeing this old beat-up dog, he gets all horney and whatnot. He's just gotta have this albatross. Its wore half to death, bald tires, blown fork seals, smokes like a cigar convention, the top end rattles like a pissed off rattlesnake, no brakes what to speak of, blah blah. He says he wants to trade straight across. Takes no great stretch of the imagination to see why I now own a Blaster. Even though I own a couple ATC250R's and a YZ490 based T-4 which are MUCH more fun to play on, I'm still going to beat on the new kid on the block. Wouldn't you? I think I'll just leave it alone and play on my others. My 17yr old daughter has shown a tad interest in the Blaster anyway. Make a cool Xmas gift?

Yeah, that thing does look pretty sweet. I like the handlebar lights for night rides because when you are going around turns you can see better if the light is pointing in that direction instead of straight ahead. That's the way my 350X is. My blaster is the new style with the light mounted in the frame and it's still nice and bright. I can't vouch for the light at night though cuz we haven't gone on a night ride since I bought it.

I prefer the light on the bars as well. When trail riding in the mountains it can be a huge help, though my preference is both.

rox speed fx sells an articulating 2" riser system which would help stretch your arms out a bit for around $70.
