Default How much nitrous can a banshee engine handle

New to this board....

I would normally do a search on this, but the option doesn't work for me....

Can somebody tell me how much nitrous a completly stock banshee engine can handle without blowing up.

Well, personally, if it was a completely stock engine, I wouldn't use nitrous. Stock engnes have cast pistons, they're not gonna take the abuse from nitrous for very long. I'd say you need a forged piston like a wiseco for starters.

forged pistons are definatly the way to go but a stock shee should take a 5 to 10 horse power shot pretty well but I would not go much more than that without retarding the timing and a few other things.

Hmmm. I wanted to spray at least 50 horses.
Guess those wisecos are on my new wish list. along with the lock up.

What other modifications do I need to consider?

Thanks

Erik

spraying 50 horses is probably asking for trouble and just about any banshee....let alone a stock one.

and 50 horse shot is way way way to much for a banshee to handle. A huge nitrous shot for a shee is like a 30 shot.

I guess since where talkin about nitrous here, could somebody explain to me what exactly nitrous is? I know its like a gas in a bottle that you spray or inject into the intake to give a boost in power. but like could somebody give me a scientific explaination of what nitrous is and how it exactly works to make more power in a engine?

and I guess a 50hp shot would be alot for a stock banshee engine. I guess it would be so much that it would twist the crank wouldnt it?
