Default YZ 250 case

I need to split the case of my 01 YZ 250, but i don't have access to the crankcase separating tool that it says to use in the manual. Is there any way to do this?

When you put it in 5th gear, its like neutral. nothing there, and i could hear something bouncing in the case it sounded like. I was thinking about taking it to 5 seasons, but it would be 50 or 60 $ just for them to split it. and could be close to $200 or more total, and i need my money for other things. My friend actually works there, so he might be able to "borrow" the splitter for me. But i'll try heating it anyways.
