wr500 bog like a madman

i know i should know this but its ben awhile i just got the bike about 1 week ago , but man it bog like crazy wide open , is it jetting prob , it has a procircit pipe with a fmf silencer, motor has about 6 hrs on it .

in any gear? kinda sounds like it's either starving it's self or you have a bad crank seal

well i havnt rode the bike yet , this wen its on the stand , ill keep you posted , i have the rear tire at the shop gitting changed

ok warm it up, then go from idle to WOT slowly in all the gears. let me knoe when it starts to die off, and pull the plug what does that look like?

ok i got the bike together and rode the bike it feels good untill i max the throttle out on it , right at the topend , i pulled the plug and it had alittle gas on it , , also i didnt relise that i had the choke on before i rode it .so what do you think it is

i think its that your choke may be on, or your main jet may be a touch on the large side

i checked the choke its not on , i think ill pull the carb and see if their is any junk in it

never mind guys i found the prob , i pulled the carb and found that the jet was laying in the bowl , man some people are just lame wen they build bikes, and this bike was build by a local shop, ill never take a bike to them ever .now it run like a beast , just alittrle scarry on the streets ,wheelie 1 2nd and 3rd gear no prob , not even trying, thank for the help guys , i hope i help someone out with this thread

ooohyeah , i have had lots of fun , bike is super fast , kinda wish it was alittle more tame , im ganna have to git use to this bike , its fastet then my old 490 .
