I already have the bike but it doesn't run now (surprise). When I start the bike it idles very high and than when you rev it it just stays stuck to whatever you rev it to and it will not and i mean will not shut off after this happens I have to pull the spark plug cap off and turn the gas off and than wait literally about a minute just for it to shut down while its revving at max RPM. Not fun when youve been waiting 18 years just to own a dirtbike and when I finally got it it does this BS now thats a big letdown after waiting that long for a bike. Also the back shock is way softer than I thought a 250 shock would be like.

You are kidding right? Ever think of stalling the motor? Put it in gear while holding the rear brake and dump the clutch... This bike obviously has some issues that need attention if it runs without spark... Dont let this one bike ruin your first impression of 2-strokes... What kind of condition is the rest of the bike in? How much money do you have into it so far?

The rest of the bike is in good shape except the back shock ( its real soft) and the motor was rebuild right before I baught it. I picked it up for 1600$.

This isn't the only 2 stroke I have I also have a Polaris Explorer400 and its sitting in the garage broken down. One day it just revved real loud the whole ride and it hasn't ran since.

I used to have an Arctic cat JAG sled a few years back but that thing would very rarely run on both cylinders and you needed to keep a fleet of backup plugs for it when you were out riding it just in case they fouled.

I had a pocket bike as well a 49cc 2 stroke and the day I got it it siezed so I took it back and got my cash cause I only had it for a couple hours thank god they gave me the money back.

So as you can see this isn't the bike that ruined my first impression of 2 strokes its the 4th 2 stroke thats done this to me. And it wasnt my choice to get that YZ I got it for christmas I was going for a 450F but my parents surprised me by getting me one for christmas instead of me spending all my money on a bike. The worst part is I still had to pay for half of that YZ.

My grandpas got his old Yamaha MOTO4 atv in my garage and its the only thing that runs in there and its an 89 thats never been rebuilt and hasn't had a plug change in probably 8 years. And its still running strong and its been rode everyday pretty much since 1989.

Thats sucks man... It sounds like all of your 2-srokes have had tuning issues... A properly tuned 2-stroke doesn't foul plugs or sieze... I hate to say it, but you might wanna take your bike to a shop... The learning curve could get real expensive for you... Riding bikes that dont run properly is asking for trouble...

Dont worry about it now boys its under control I traded the bike for a TTR230 and guess what the TTR runs first kick and never bogs or stalls and its 4 stroke so its way better on gas than that YZ would of been anyday which means more riding and less refilling and no fuel mixing.

Thanks for the help guys but I really didnt want to keep a bike that I couldnt even ride when I first got it because if I couldnt even ride it when I first got it with a fresh rebuild I know it wouldnt of lasted long once it finally did get going.

The TTR is running strong and ive been riding it all day and it hasnt stalled once. No problems yet and I dont think there will be any to come. I feel sorry for the guy that has the YZ but hopefully it works out for him.
