Default rebuilding YZ250

How often do you think I will have to rebuild my YZ250 If I ride it almost everyday for a few hours.

depends on how well you miantain it, how long you let it warm up, which oils and what ratio you mix at. how often you change tranny fluid, how well you keep up on the fluids, what your riding style is like. and just how clean you keep it.

average life span can be from 60 hours to lifetime you own the bike.

my advice is rebuild it when the compression drops around or to 120 psi..

and when your rebuild it it's not a bad idea to replace seals, and bearings...

well before my friends 95 yz 80 blew up he had to run it with the spark plug loose or it would flood out and we always had to run start it and it had no low end power whatsoever but once u hit the powerband it fuckin ripped and u could run it at peak revs all day long and beat the shit out of it but after he rebuilt it....it kind of seemed more timid idk maybe it was jus me

as a rule of thumb i generally ckeck the compression after a breakin and note it. afterwards i routinely check the compression and if it falls below about 10-15% of what it was originally, i tear into it.
