Uni filter/powernow

Which filter do you oil on the dual stage Uni Filter? The outer filter or inner? Ive read that you can ride with the filter unoiled. That is probally the last thing I would ever want to do. Ive always oiled the outer filter.

Has anyone ran the Scary Fast power now? What did you notice? Im hesitant about putting something like that in my carb without hearing some rider feedback. Ive read in other threads that the peice moves around inside the carb.

Last summer I rode at silver lake with an oiled UNI (without air box), I have about 20-25 hours on my top end.
I just tore it back apart & the piston looked terrible, Now I know to run a Outerwear prefilter.

Yeah, a good filter is everything. Ive ran Uni filters for as long as Ive been riding. We have alot of silty sand up here and when I oil my outer filter I get a couple rides on it before the outer filter gets plugged with sand. Power robbin! I was thinkin maybe if I oiled the inner filter if it would get a little more riding time in between filter cleaning

You should oil the inside I don't run UNI hopeully I will soon but people that do run said oiling the inside is better and makes it last longer

all i did was put both parts of the uni in a ziplock bag & put the oil in there & mix it around so it got alover it

Watch your jetting with the dual stage Uni they dont flow as good. I use single stage Unis with Outerwears and it work good for me.

Uni recommends oiling both layers on there dual stage pod filters.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I have noticed Uni filters load my bike down frequently unless I clean them religiously. I always thought about running a twin air filter. I have had good luck with Uni filters though other htan them making my bike run different. Whats the deal with those twin air power kits? That come with the aluminum cage? Is it just a fancy cage or does it actually do anything?

I oil both inner and outer on my Uni's.
