your reeds are from '79 so the could be chiped or cracked

Like honda250r said. Pull the carb and check it out, make sure it's back together right.

interesting.... have you goten it to run at all? you said halfway run? but when you described it, you said it back fired, when you tried to start it? is that the closest you got, to makin that kitty per? cause i wouldnt call that halfway running? i wouldnt even call thatrunning?

yep.... sounds to me like you didnt put the carb back together correctly.... until she sucks gass, we cant make an assesment on the rest of the motor....

i got the reeds if i could find out how to take a pic of it and see what you guys think about it i would. i have had this thing running tons of times i ride it on my litile mini track im my back yard now its started doing this for no reason the reeds dont look cracked

if the reeds are fine
check your carb to see if you put it back together right

it back fires and smokes but dont do anything else thats what i mean by half way running have you ever had this problem bfulton620
