Default Dumb Throttle Question

I pulled the carb off of my bike and have been planning on checking on the clip position for the needle. I can't seem to figure out how to remove the throttle cable from the needle to get the needle out to check the clip position. How do you remove the cable?

I have been trying to run through the carb to see what jet sizes and for general maintenance knowledge.

The bike is a 2001 YZ125

I don't remember this one too much..
There has to be a clip for the cable, then something to secure it.
Think that clip is round & secured by a ring that sits over it... Pull up the spring, pull up that ring & should cable to free up!

I spent about 2 hours trying to figure it out. I pulled up the plastic spring perch (round plastic o-shaped) Still can't figure out why the throttle cable will not free up.

There's a little stub to lock it in, just loosen a bit for it to slide out.. It has to come out!

Part # 2 on the diagram is where the end of the throttle cable sits in the little groove in the side, I tried using a flat head to push it out of that groove and "no dice"
