My new project

I got this little guy today. It's a 1976 Yamaha MX 80. motors locked up from sitting and it's missing the fenders.

cool, my buddies got the very same thing. His front sprocket is almost round haha. They go pretty good for their size, but they to tend to bust easy.

Man ive had 3 of those bikes!! I could rebuild that whole thing with my eyes closed. I neved had problems finding engine parts. I wish I never sold the ones i had... my favorite bike of all time. One problem i always had was if you drive in the rain the water splashes up to the coil and stalls it out. I found a old front fender off a yz50 and it fixed that.

Yeah I dont have a front or rear fender. lol. good, when I tear the motor down I will be sending some pm's your way.

Cool. Im trying to remember any problems i had with them. I put 2 sets of pistons rings in the one I had for 4 years or so... im gonna go find a picture of it.

Cool sounds good bro. Do you know the certain years they made the Mx, Ct, and Dt 80's?

I have no idea what years they made them. I know my first one was a 79. I had anouther one that looked alot newer and had plastic fenders. Same engine as the 79 I have no idea what year it was. And the third one i had was a 79 as well. I looked for a book on them but I never could find one.
