Suspension and Brakes

Hey guys, as some of you know I recently purchased a 1984 IT 490. I'm loving the power and it runs good, but the brakes and suspension really leave something to be desired. I'd really like to upgrade to a much better front and rear suspension and at least a front disc. Do you guys have any experience upgrading/modding a vintage bike like this old IT?

Nobody? I've been searching for info on moddifying this bike and I haven't found hardly anything. Anybody have any ideas?
